| Where? GREENFIELD, INDIANA When? September 22nd thru September 24th, 2011 (sign in begins at 4PM on Wednesday September 21st, we will be meeting at hotel at 8AM, Thursday the 22nd, to head out to our location for that day. Sign in and all paperwork must be done prior to this, as we do not want to hold up the class) Instructor: Mimi Perry, assisted by Kelly Haggard and Mike McPherson What to bring? Bring anything you need to work your K9, any equipment (a crate is a MUST, especially if you will be staying at the hotel) and bring clothing for any type of weather, because Indiana weather can change pretty quickly! This seminar is a trailing seminar only, we will focus on many things, including things you may encounter in real life situations. Examples are, gathering proper scent articles, doing real life scenarios, scent detection, night time trails, tactical training, urban (city) work, and rural work. We also will be working aged trails, some several days old, and some may or may not have a runner at the end. The weather has been HOT here in Indiana so far this summer, and if it is still quite warm, no worries! We will utilize our time, so don't be surprised if we work night trails until 3AM! We may begin working K9's extremely early, break for class time during daytime hours, then work at night. We had considered having this seminar during a less "severe weather" time of year, but then we thought, how does this prepare the handler for a REAL search? We get called out in all kinds of conditions/times of day/night, so that is why this seminar will be when it is planned. Our team decided to do this seminar because we miss the good old days of when handlers went to seminars, met up with friends, exchanged ideas, talked, worked HARD, came home TIRED, DIRTY, and maybe with some bumps and bruises! THIS is what a good old fashioned seminar is all about, and we hope that we will be able to provide this for you! We have tried to make this seminar as affordable as possible, because we all understand that money is tight in this economy, and hopefully you will feel as if we have accomplished this. Lodging: When calling to register, please let them know you are an attendee of the Indy Mantrailing K9 Search and Rescue K9 seminar, ask for General Manager, Alberta Tuggle, if any problems. We have a block of rooms that are guaranteed for attendees that the cost will be $59.00 a night plus tax, and they have waived any pet fee. Please check out their website, to see hotel services and amenities, we hope that you will find it comfortable. There are some other hotels in the area, but this one offered the best facilities at the best price, but please feel free to check around if you wish. Also camping will be available at the Hancock County Fairgrounds for campers. If you wish to camp, please contact Mike McPherson at 317-498-2262 for pricing. If we have enough interest, we will be working the K9's on Sunday, September 25th. We would like to have a cook out and auction, on Saturday night, if you would like to bring an auction item, we will be doing one then, and also will be giving certificates to everyone that evening. If you would like to contribute in any way with the cook out, just let one of us know. We hope to see some old friends, and make new ones as well, be ready to work hard and go home feeling like you did just that!!!
